It is a source of pride at Reeves Foundation to push ourselves beyond what is expected. Mediocre work is not something we can take pride in. Excellence is the quality that we want to represent ourselves by. Reeves Foundation is always striving for excellence, not mediocrity, in the services that we provide.
Meaning of Excellence is?
I suppose this would depend on individual perception. Excellence is described by wordnet as:
(

- The quality of excelling; possessing good qualities in high degree.
- An outstanding feature; something in which something or someone excels.
So what does Excellence mean to you? We see excellence as being the best you can possibly be while striving to "press on" beyond that best.
Why Excellence?
- Reeves Foundation strives to provide services that are above and beyond the average.
- We desire to make a difference if the lives of the people we serve.
- We aim towards the continual reach for perfection.
- To excel. To be the chosen agency.
- To assist individuals with developmental disabilities gain prosperity in their lives.
- To be better than average.
Meaning of Mediocrity is?
Mediocrity is described by wordnet as: (
http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=mediocrity )
- Averageness: ordinariness as a consequence of being average and not outstanding.
- Second-rater: a person of second-rate ability or value.
So what does mediocrity mean to you? We see mediocrity as being just moderate, low quality, low value, and minimum performance.
What is Mediocrity?
- Mediocrity is doing the bare minimum to just get through.
- Mediocrity is the art of doing just enough.
- Mediocrity does not stand out in the crowd.
- Mediocrity has nothing to offer.
Beyond Mediocrity
Unfortunately, many people seem ready to accept mediocrity in their lives. For example, many people spend the least amount of time on a task and have no real concern about doing a good job. Many people don’t seem to push themselves farther than the minimum requirements.
Sadly, many people do not even consistently achieve the minimum requirements of a job duty; they do only those tasks they can get away with. If your goal is mediocrity, the sad news is that you are doomed to achieve it.
The Reeves Foundation Demand for Excellence
It is only when we demand, or need, excellence that the mediocre becomes unacceptable. The good news: Reeves Foundation is committed to excellence, therefore, we do not accept mediocrity in the services we provide, nor in the employees we hire.
Take a moment to ponder this thought…
If everyone in the world pressed beyond mediocrity to excellence…what a better world this would be.
